Dr. Persad current research is focused on Applied Artificial/Augmented/Assisted Intelligence in a variety of areas, with the main goal being the computational automation of processes. He work closely with collaborators to develop design tools and products for the following sectors: Healthcare, Food and Beverage, Education and Arts and Culture. |
Dr. Umesh Persad is an Associate Professor and Programme Leader (Head of Department) of the Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical and Entrepreneurship Unit (MME) at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. He also lead the Design and Innovation Group and co-direct the UTT Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (CAAIR).

He holds a M.Sc. degree in Industrial Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management from the University of Trinidad and Tobago, a Business Management degree (BABM) from the University of Sunderland and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with extensive experience in auditing, accounting, management and finance. Mr. Soodeen has also been designated Chartered Accountant (CA) status by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT). |
Mr. Dinesh Soodeen is an Instructor II at the Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship (MME) Unit at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. He is pursuing doctoral studies in Entrepreneurial Studies with a focus on academic entrepreneurship at the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
